On behalf of Beccles Netball Club, we would like to welcome you and provide you with some information about our club.

Beccles Netball Club aims to provide opportunities for young people and adults to receive coaching and also compete in league and tournament matches. Qualified and experienced coaches will deliver all training.

Beccles Netball Club History

Beccles Netball Club was set up in 2010 by Kim Grose with a group of mums as part of the Back to Netball Scheme. Its original aim was to give players the opportunity to keep fit and meet new people. When the club started it had around 20 members, ranging from 17 to 50 years old. Shortly after, Kim managed to secure funding from the local parish council to pay for further training and equipment. In 2011, Kim began working towards developing a junior section and over the years has formed many youth teams. The club continues to provide opportunities for young people to develop their skills in netball and also form, what we hope, will be long lasting friendships.

Membership

We are a voluntary run organisation relying on the support of our members to sustain the club.  We have taken the decision not to increase the session fees but introduce an annual membership which currently stands at £15, payable in March each year. This fee is subject to change. You will be offered one free session and if you decide to continue then you will be asked to complete the online registration form on our website. Once your membership request is received you will be sent a payment request for the membership fee. Once the fee has been paid you will be accepted as a member.

Lowestoft Netball League

We currently have 2 teams playing on a Tuesday evening at Lynn Grove Academy, Bradwell, Great Yarmouth and are always open to welcoming new players to our teams. League fees are payable for each season (summer and winter) and will be collected before the start of each season. You will be notified in advance and a payment request sent prior to the start of the season. Players also pay £2 per match which goes towards paying the umpires and this is collected at the start of each game. Games take place at 7 pm and 8 pm.

We have also recently formed an under 13s team called Beccles Belles who will be taking part in upcoming tournaments.

Training

Training sessions are held at The Venue, Ringsfield Road, Beccles, NR34 9PF on a Thursday evening during school term time only.

During Training Sessions

Players must be dressed appropriately . Trainers that are suitable for sport should be worn (not fashion trainers) and should be laced up throughout the session. To avoid injury fingernails should be short and smooth.

Please note that ALL jewellery should be removed prior to training and no chewing gum is allowed. The use of mobile phones is not permitted during training so please make sure they are stored away and on silent to avoid disrupting the sessions.

We will not be liable for the loss of any valuables.

CLUB KIT

Our club colours are turquoise and black. Training tops are available to purchase on our website. Club dresses are available for our league players. We do have a limited selection of second-hand dresses available at a reduced rate. You will be informed if you need to purchase a club dress.

We do not stock any of our kit, therefore, it may be a few weeks before you receive your items as they are ordered in bulk from our suppliers.

Keeping up to date

We currently use WhatsApp groups to communicate with our members but we are now phasing this out and rolling out Spond. This is a sports club management system and you will be required to download the Spond app from your providers App Store. It is very easy to use and all club and team communications will be sent via the app.

Safeguarding (Under 18s)

To adhere to Safeguarding policies we require parents/carers to remain with their child until a member of the club arrives at the venue. Please ensure that your child is not left to wait alone. When junior members are transported to fixtures/training we require parents/carers to be a visible presence when dropping them off and to be at a chosen point at an agreed time.

LEAGUE

LEAGUE FEES PAYABLE AT THE START OF EACH SUMMER AND WINTER SEASON AND ARE DETERMINED AT THE START OF EACH SEASON. TYPICALLY BETWEEN £20 AND £30.

£2 PER WEEK PAYABLE AT THE START OF THE GAMES IN CASH  TO GO TOWARDS PAYING THE UMPIRES

DRESSES - £43.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

CURRENTLY £15 PER YEAR, PAYABLE ON SIGN UP TO THE CLUB AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE
